Beth Morgan Teaches Great Melton GirlsGreat Melton'cricket clubs successful girls section were honoured to have a visit from recently retired England cricketer Beth Morgan to the picturesque Melton park for a coaching evening and q&a session.

Over 20 of the clubs 34 girls who attend regular training on a Friday night with the clubs 2 female coaches Hannah Brook and Louise Cadge supported by young leaders Emma Bunn and Laura Edge were treated to a master class in throwing and fielding. The session moved onto batting before heavy rain curtailed the coaching before the range hitting contest could begin.

Everyone then moved into the clubhouse for a group chat on various aspects of women's cricket and the pathway the girls could follow to become future England players. Beth then signed various bats and posed for many photos with the girls. Chairman Steve Phoenix thanked Beth for her efforts and Kevin Denmark from the Norfolk Cricket Board for organising the Evening.

Girls cricket over the last 18 months has really progressed under the leadership of girls manager Chris Brook. The club now has 34 girls plus 2 level 1 female coaches. A team in the Thetford Grammar School ladies league, 2012  under 13 girls county champions and 16 girls representing the county from under 13 up to ladies. With the club actively supporting girls cricket by encouraging girls to become coaches and play in the other youth teams, the girls are become a key part of this successful club.
