Garboldisham Thriving Through Help of Thetford Grammar School

Junior cricket is going strong at Garboldisham Cricket Club, helped along by a big contribution of players from Thetford Grammar School.

There are 32 pupils from TGS registered at Garboldisham.  The ages range from 6 through to 15 and the group includes 12 girls.  The youngsters travel from various locations across Norfolk and Suffolk, including Watton, Mundford, Thetford and Bury St Edmunds, to attend training on Friday nights during the cricket season and a number of them are also established members of the Club’s youth teams.

Garboldisham Cricket Club has the ECB’s Clubmark accreditation and is one of Norfolk Cricket Board’s Chance to Shine Clubs.  Youth cricket is an important and thriving element of the Club’s activities and the quality of the training on offer plays a big part in that success.

The photo shows most of the young players at a recent Friday night training session.

Thetford Grammar School are also proud sponsors of the Norfolk Women’s Club League for the past 3 years.
