Norwich CEYMS Norfolk Girls U13's Report 2015

The U13 Girls have had a fantastic season, finishing joint top of their league and narrowly losing on run rate to Suffolk. They started off the season with a win over their local rivals, setting a convincing 144-9 and bowling them out for just 52. A great win over Lincolnshire, who the team bowled out for 35 and chased down their total in 7 overs, followed and unfortunately a loss away to Suffolk.

The girls carried on their winning form beating Leicestershire both home and away and beating Lincolnshire in their final fixture of the season. The girls fielded brilliantly in every game and bowled consistently and accurately. Their batting developed and by the end of the season players were finding their form and confidence.

Following the end of the league season, the team went on tour to Malvern. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves playing some great cricket and lots of games against tougher opposition. There was definitely some tense moments losing one game in the final over and some great personal achievements for individuals in the team. Tour was a great finale for a fantastic season.

There were many highlights from throughout the season with many players performing with the bat and all the girls excelling with their fielding.

Batting highlights included:

-          Anoushka Williamson saved the game v Leicestershire with 26* accompanied by India Everett

-          Anoushka also scored 44* and 45* away on tour v Herefordshire

-          Holly Marchant 29* and Daisy Eke 32* v Lincolnshire to win the game

-          Daisy Eke 21* v Nottinghamshire

-          Emily Heuschneider 21* v Suffolk

-          Charlotte Smith 20 v Leicestershire

-          Gabby Lockwood 20 v Herefordshire

This season, Caitlin Dye was top wicket taker with 11 wickets but many bowlers bowled exceptionally well.

Other bowling highlights included:

- Anoushka Williamson’s 4-2 v Lincolnshire

- Charlotte Smith’s 4-6 v Nottinghamshire

- Holly Marchant’s 4-14 v Lincolnshire

- Emily Heuschneider’s 4-15 v Leicestershire

- Eleanor Pringle’s 3-5 v Lincolnshire

- Caitlin Dye’s 3-16 v Leicestershire and 3-19 v Lincolnshire

This season, the girls always played with great team spirit, positive attitudes, enthusiasm and support for each other. They stood out as a group of friends with lots of talent and potential as cricketers. They always came off the pitch with smiles on their faces, proud to be part of the Norfolk team and it’s been a thoroughly enjoyable year.
