Norwich CEYMS Norfolk U15 Girls Manager Report 2015

By Pete Free

I think it’s fair to say that in the allotted 2 minutes I have, I will be unable to do the girls justice regarding their achievements and sum up entirely my feelings about the fantastic season the Girls and I have had this season.

Browny, the Chairman and I knew during the winter sessions, that I had a massively talented squad to manage for the 2015 season, and with a larger number of games this season, our hopes were quite optimistic about doing something special in the league and the T20’s.

With no surprsie it has come to pass that the U15 girls have been crowned Royal London ECB U15 B division champions, following 6 wins, 1 loss, and a rained off game.

I am immensely proud of their achievements. We were also unbeaten in one of the T20 competitions and unfortunately the other 2 tournaments were rained affected or completely washed out. Each and every one of the girls has brought something to the games they have played in, either with bat, ball or with some of the unbelievable fielding that’s been on display.

We have had some great fun along the way, and the squad have become a very strong unit together, great friendships have been built and they have all enjoyed each others achievements during the season.

The tour at Malvern College in August will not be forgotten by the girls where this bond and friendship helped ensure we had a fantastic time with 3 wins from 5 games.

It’s sad that I will be losing 9 of the girls now as they hopefully move onto the ladies squad but the ladies will be acquiring some great cricketing talent to add to the squad.

So a huge thank you from me to all of the the girls and Robyn for skippering magnificently and for making this a season to remember, it’s been the absolute highlight of my season, and again I am immensely proud of what we have achieved together.

So a few thank you’s to mention before I sign off:

• To the cricket board, another big thank you for your continued support to me and the girls, especially Browny and the board

• To the parents, for your support during the year to the girls and me, especially Jon Rogers and my sister for helping me with scoring duties Now looking forward to 2016!
