Norfolk U10's, sponsored by Glenn Wilson Property Maintenance, travelled to Doddington CC to take on Cambs U10's in their opening fixture.

On a damp wicket and slow outfield Norfolk lost the toss and were asked to bat first. The Norfolk innings was built around excellent fifties from the experienced duo, captain Arthur Wilcox (63) and Elliot Hart (56). Late support from Ben Hastings (23 not out) took the Norfolk total to 203/5, which included 3 run outs.

In reply Norfolk took two early wickets from Stoltz and Woodhead but then had to wait until the 26th over for their 3rd when Wilson (24) was run out by Elliot Hart. The Cambs innings was progressing well though, built around a knock of 67 from Yousuf Choudhary, but when he was run out by Edward Cross the momentum changed Norfolk's way. Trent Stoltz calmly ran out Mackay (14) and Joe Scarborough had H Aubrey (9) well caught by George Woodcock at mid wicket as Norfolk kept in control in the final few overs to win by 13 runs in a great game of cricket.

Norfolk U10's, sponsored by Glenn Wilson Property Maintenance, hosted Suffolk U10's at Topcroft CC in glorious sunny conditions.

Captain Arthur Wilcox won the toss and inserted the visitors. Norfolk soon made inroads as Stoltz took 3 quick wickets before Elliot Hart took two more, to leave the visitors 40 for 5. A 6th wicket partnership of 64 was the backbone of the Suffolk innings before Edward Cross had A Summers caught for 22 by Stoltz and then Lewis Reeder took the key wicket of the impressive Freddie Dyer, LBW for 51. The returning Stoltz then claimed a run out and then a further wicket, as did Hart. Impressive figures from both Stoltz with 5.5-0-23-4 and Hart 8-5-5-3. An excellent bowling an fielding display left Suffolk on 125 all out.

In reply Norfolk were always up with the rate, Jamie Pywell (14) and Ben Hastings (11) got the innings going and a late rally from Arthur Wilcox (21no) took Norfolk over the line, but the innings of Edward Cross (56no) was excellent and sealed the win with over 13 overs to spare. Big improvements shown since last Friday's game and a real all round team performance made it 2 wins in 3 days.

Norfolk U10’s, sponsored by Glenn Wilson Property Maintenance Ltd, hosted Northants U10’s at Mattishall CC.

With captain Arthur Wilcox unavailable, Elliot Hart took over the reins. After overnight rain Norfolk lost the toss and were asked to bat first. Right from the off Norfolk struggled to score against an impressive visiting attack and were soon in trouble at 5 for 3 from 3 overs.

Norfolk never really recovered from this and lost wickets at regular intervals despite some good resistance from the lower middle order. Trent Stoltz top scored with 15 and Elliot Hart scored 10. In reply Norfolk battled well trying to defend the low score and did manage to take 3 wickets, one each for Trent Stoltz, Jamie Pywell and Elliott Hart. Northants reached the target in the 20th over to win by 7 wickets.

Norfolk U10's, sponsored by Glenn Wilson Property Maintenance Ltd, travelled to Brandeston Hall to take on Suffolk on a glorious summers day.

Captain Arthur Wilcox won the toss and elected to bat first. The Norfolk innings was dominated by a wonderful hard hitting century from Elliot Hart, he hit 17 fours in his 74 ball innings. Norfolk posted 184 from their 35 overs.

In the Suffolk reply Trent Stoltz took an early wicket before Lewis Reeder ran out Tharaneetharan. Stoltz was involved again taking a great catch on the boundary off James Woodhead's bowling. Suffolk were still scoring well though and with 50 required off 8 overs and with 7 wickets in hand Suffolk were well placed, but when Lewis Reeder removed the dangerous Freddie Dyer for 72, caught by Sam Reynolds, the game started to turn Norfolk's way. Reeder soon struck again to finish with 2 for 7 from his 4 overs and James Woodhead then claimed a run out. Norfolk were now on top and Edward Cross took a wicket in the last over as Suffolk finished on 171 for 7, leaving Norfolk winners by 13 runs in a great game of cricket.

Norfolk U10 vs Bedfordshire U10 - Friday 29th July 2016 - Topcroft CC

Norfolk Won By 1 Run

Norfolk U10's, sponsored by Glenn Wilson Property Maintenance Ltd, welcomed Bedfordshire to Topcroft CC.

Captain Arthur Wilcox lost the toss and Norfolk were asked to bat first. Edward Cross top scored in the innings with 31 and Joe Scarborough batted patiently for his 25. At 98 for 6 Norfolk were in trouble but a 50 run partnership between Corey Rushton (19) and Harvey Moody (22) allowed the home side to push up the score to a competitive 156.

In the Beds reply, Norfolk took an early wicket when Arthur Wilcox had Tom Maynard caught behind for 12 but then had to wait until the score was 58 before Jamie Granville ran out Mehrab Khan for 17. Beds then put on an excellent 3rd wicket partnership and with 4 overs to go needed 17 to win with 8 wickets in hand. With opening bowlers Arthur Wilcox and Cai Pearson bowled out, Wilcox brought back both Under 9 bowlers Lewis Reeder and Johnny Shaw. Shaw's first over went for 7 before Lewis Reeder's first ball back removed the dangerous Oliver Needham for 37, excellently caught behind by Corey Rushton. 4 balls later Reeder struck again with Wilcox taking a diving catch. Johnny Shaw then bowled a wicket maiden, bowling the impressive Tom Baddeley for 55 and Arthur Wilcox then struck with a run out. 9 to win off the final over but Lewis Reeder kept his head and Norfolk protected the boundaries well as Beds came up 1 run short in a thriller of a game played in great spirit.

Norfolk U10's, sponsored by Glenn Wilson Property Maintenance Ltd, played host to Nottinghamshire U10's at Stow CC.

Captain Arthur Wilcox won the toss and elected to bat first.

Edward Cross and Jamie Granville opened the batting and set a solid platform for the team. Granville eventually fell for 7 before Harvey Moody was unfortunately run out for 5. When Arthur Wilcox went for a quick fire 20, Norfolk had a collapse and lost 7 wickets for just 18 runs, including an excellent 44 from Edward Cross. The last pair took the score up to 125 all out as the excellent spin attack from the visitors ripped through the middle order.

The Notts reply was built around the hard hitting opener Usman Minhas knock of 48 until he was caught and bowled by Elliott Hart. Trent Stoltz took a wicket and Arthur Wilcox two as Norfolk made Notts work hard for their runs. Notts helped by 45 extras reached their target in the 29th over.

Essex U10 vs Norfolk U10  - Sunday 14th August 2016 - Chigwell School

Norfolk Won By 6 Wickets

Norfolk U10's, sponsored by Glenn Wilson Property Maintenance Ltd, travelled to Chigwell School to take on Essex U10's. Essex won the toss and batted first.

Essex started very well racing to 35 from 7 overs before Norfolk started to peg them back with some tight bowling. 46 for 2 then soon became 62 for 6. Some good resistance was shown late on by the Essex lower order in support of Zikriya Ramzan (43) before Essex were bowled out for 133. Wickets were shared by all the bowlers, one apiece for Arthur Wilcox, Elliott Hart, Jamie Granville, Lewis Reeder, James Woodhead and two each for George Woodcock and Cai Pearson.

In reply Norfolk lost four wickets in Ed Cross (6), Harvey Moody (1), Ben Hastings (6) and George Woodcock (2) but at 51 for 4, Arthur Wilcox (47no) joined Elliott Hart (53no) as the pair went onto bat superbly to reach the target. Both batted with great patience and despatched anything loose as Norfolk ran out comfortable winners by 6 wickets with 12.5 overs to spare.

London Schools U10 vs Norfolk U10  - Monday 15th August 2016 - Chigwell School

Norfolk U10's, sponsored by Glenn Wilson Property Maintenance Ltd, travelled to the Denis Compton Oval at the Shenley Cricket Centre on day 2 of their mini London tour to take on London Schools Association.

Losing the toss again, Norfolk were asked to field for the second day running in what was their last match of the season.

Norfolk certainly saved the best to last, in what was their most accomplished bowling and fielding display of the season. On a great wicket and lightning outfield, Norfolk dominated from start to finish as LSA struggled to score with some superb disciplined bowling. Three batsmen reached double figures as Norfolk bowled out the hosts for 99. Elliot Hart, Cai Pearson, Harvey Moody and Trent Stoltz all took two wickets each plus a run out for Lewis Reeder and Johnny Shaw.

Norfolk started their reply in positive fashion with some great running between the wickets before Lewis Reeder was bowled for a solid 11. 21 for 1 soon became 36 for 3 as Norfolk lost both Arthur Wilcox (9) and Jamie Pywell (1). Elliott Hart (33no) joined Ed Cross (35no) and the experienced pair saw Norfolk home in quick time with 20 overs to spare. This finished a great season for the team and one they have all developed personally and as a team.
