Norfolk's Cricket Development Manager

Norfolk's Cricket Development Manager

Norfolk's Cricket Development Manager is Kieron Tuck. He has played top league cricket in Norfolk for around 20 years, mainly with Cromer, but he has also had spells with Swardeston and Sheringham, as well as having played for Reigate Priory CC in Surrey, and Somerset West CC in Cape Town, South Africa. Kieron has represented Norfolk in the Minor Counties Championship back in 1996, following in the footsteps of his father Evan, who also played for Norfolk in the 1980's. Kieron therefore has an excellent knowledge of Norfolk Cricket and a passion to help grow the game in the county.

The role of Cricket Development Manager has changed somewhat in recent years. The job is now to manage the programmes and people who are involved in delivering the NCB's objectives, strategies and initiatives. Hands on delivery is no longer undertaken by the CDM except in a few instances. As the only full time professional member of staff, the role is extensive, and effectively covers all of the developmental areas listed here on the website. The role is to ensure that the deployment of the human and financial resources at the NCB's disposal is utilised effectively. The CDM will increasingly over the coming years be looking at developing more staff to deliver a greater range of programmes, bring more funding in to the game in Norfolk, and develop the levels of communication between all key stakeholders in Norfolk Cricket. This will involve pulling together a huge range of partners to make the game bigger and better than ever within Norfolk. Essentially the job is about creating quality opportunities for cricket participation, but that doesn't really do justice to the scope of the role!
