Girls U15 Schools Cricket Competition Report 2016

Norfolk School U15 Girls Cricket Competition

On Friday 13th May 2016 we saw our first U15 Girls school cricket competition. The competition was held at Redmayne Playing Field, Norwich school who kindly offered their grounds as part of their development in girls cricket. We had a great uptake with 6 teams entering into the first competition.

The schools: Northgate High, Attleborough Academy, Norwich School, Wymondham College, Broadland High, Thetford Academy.

The day began on Friday 13th May with a very cold wind and overcast conditions. Not ideal for cricket! However the girls gave it their all and really got into the games. The format shaped 2 groups of 3 who would all play each other to establish a league table. We played a Kwik-cricket format in every match. The girls welcomed this as they did not need to use hardball equipment and the matches were a little shorter in the freezing cold. The groups were as follows: Group 1- Norwich School, Broadland High and Attleborough Academy. Group 2 – Wymondham College, Thetford Academy and Northgate High.
