Why Peter?

North Runcton CC has a vibrant Youth section under the management of Peter during the past 15 years in his role as head coach. They have regularly produced players who have represented Norfolk at both Youth and Senior level.

In addition to that he has also run and managed school teams and provided a vital link for migration of players from school to Club.

At the Club he has overseen three teams ( 12s,14s & 16s ) for the past 10 years with support from various Managers. The Club also enter The West Norfolk Indoor Youth League which Peter has run for the past 5 winters.

The Club actively run coaching during the winter period with attendances averaging around 20 and during the summer attendance at the Club outdoor sessions can easily peak at around 50.

He gives all his time on a voluntary basis and is just one of those guys without whom the Club would really struggle. In addition to his Youth commitments he is also heavily involved in the management and day to day running of the Club.

Two years ago he helped to set up The Kings Lynn MCC hub which offers 12 sessions per annum, both indoors and outdoors at 13s & 15s. This helps prepare these players ready for their Club seasons and the opportunity to play some representative matches. There is a maximum of 18 West Norfolk based players in each squad.

He also helped The County Age group programme as assistant coach for three years from 2008-10 where his support and enthusiasm was invaluable.

A worthy winner in this category.

Kieron Tuck (Norfolk Cricket Board Development Director)
