Brooke CC win County Kwik Cricket title for first time after Super Over

Brooke Primary School were crowned County Kwik Cricket Champions for the first time after the 2017 finals held at Manor Park, Horsford on 20th June.

16 teams had earned the right to play in the county finals, and teams played each other in 4 groups of 4 teams. The top two teams from each group progressed to the main knowckout competition, with the teams finishing 3rd and 4th playing in the Plate competition during the afternoon.

The standard of play was very high throughout the day, as were the enjoyment levels from all players and teams. The final was one of the finest ever seen in the history of the competition, between Brooke Primary and St Williams Primary. At the end of the final the two teams were tied in 252-4, meaning that the destiny of the trophy had to be decided by a 'Super Over'. Brooke Primary held their nerve to edge out St Williams by one run in that decider, and claim the county crown for the first time. They earn the right to represent Norfolk in the Regional Finals at Essex CCC in July.

Congratulations also to Downham Prep School who won the Plate Competition.
