Fakenham Falcons have retained their U19 Club T20 title which they first won in 2016 after a convincing 10 wicket win over the Ashmanhaugh & Barton Wanderers Spartans on T20 Finals Day on Sunday at Manor Park, Horsford Cricket Club.

Harry Bammant (50 Not Out) and Billy Buckingham (45 Not Out) helped Fakenham cruise towards victory by 10 wickets inside 14 overs. This was after Tom White (4-0-4-18) led the way with the ball and took 4 wickets to help restrict the Barton Spartons to 112/8 from their 20 overs despite an excellent innings of 42 from Shishir Bhatia.

Earlier in the day, the Barton Spartans beat the Acle Aces in a hard-fought semi-final by 5 runs which went down to the very last ball to reach the final. The Barton Spartans batted first and set an imposing 156/6 from their 20 overs with Joe Everett top scoring with 36 and Cameron Marrable 32 not out. In reply the Acle Aces got off to a flying start thanks to 42 from Jordan Betts but some tight bowling at the death helped the Barton Spartans to a 5 run win.

The second semi-final saw the Fakenham Falcons beat a youthful Swardeston Sharks side by 18 runs to reach the final for a 2nd consecutive year. The Fakenham Falcons batted first and were indebted to Harry Bammant for an excellent 53 not out to hold the innings together before some good late hitting from Jamie Cook saw them set a total of 143/5 from their 20 overs. Joe Beadman and Beth Harmer were the pick of the bowlers. Despite an excellent 51 not out from Will Kidner, the Swardeston Sharks fell 18 runs short of the target and were eventually bowled out with 3 balls left in the innings with Robert Hooton, Aaron Howell, Oscar Campbell and Callum Futter all in the wickets for the Fakenham Falcons.

At the end of tournament presentations led by competition organiser Lewis Denmark from the Norfolk Cricket Board, Tom White of the Fakenham Falcons was awarded Player of the Match for his 4 wickets in the final. Joe Everett of the Barton Spartans received the Batter of the Tournament with 163 runs from his 5 innings and Charlie Rogers from the Great Witchingham Panthers won the Bowler of the Tournament with 11 wickets.
