32 Local cricket clubs across Norfolk took part in All Stars Cricket this summer with over 450 children taking part in the brand new initiative from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) aimed at providing children aged five to eight with a great first experience in cricket.

The nationwide programme saw over 1500 clubs take part across England, Wales and Scotland with over 37,000 5-8 year olds enjoying their first experience of All Stars Cricket. Everyone that took part received a pack of cricket goodies including a cricket bat, ball, backpack, water bottle, personalised shirt and cap to keep so that they can continue their love of cricket when they go home.

Lewis Denmark who is the Norfolk Cricket Board Participation & Retention Officer was delighted with how the new initiative worked this summer in Norfolk “It was great to see over 450 children taking part across Norfolk in this brand new initiative setup by the ECB and it was particularly pleasing to see so many clubs get involved and embrace the younger generation at their clubs. We are already planning for 2018 where we will hopefully see an increase in both club and children getting involved and to help this we will be engaging with more schools to spread the word of All Stars Cricket.”

More Details & Information about 2018 sign-ups will follow in the coming months.
