Norwich Primary Schools Kwik Cricket Competitions 2018

Norwich Primary Schools Kwik Cricket Competitions 2018

The Norfolk Cricket Board has stepped in to take on the running of the Norwich Primary School Cricket Association Kwik Cricket competitions after Brian Slack stepped down as organiser last year after several years of excellent administration of the competitions. NCB have been in discussions with James Roberts at St Williams Primary to ensure that we can keep these popular competitions going and we are delighted to be able to offer these again to your school this summer term, with a few alterations which we hope will make the competition offer more wide ranging and inclusive for any Primary Schools in Norwich and the surrounding areas.

Please see below details of the two competitions and how to enter. A full competition pack will be produced nearer to the time of the event but hopefully the information below will be enough for you to decide if this competition is for you.

U9 David Watkins Shield

  • Revised age range for Y4 pupils and below
  • 8-a-side
  • Mixed teams ok, but no ‘quota’ on gender (eg can be all boys or all girls!)
  • Kwik Cricket rules (softball), with some adaptations to ensure ease of participation and inclusion for a range of pupils. (eg underarm bowling permitted)
  • Entry level competition – ideal for those schools wishing to give pupils a taste of inter school cricket competition

  • £10 entry fee per school (not per team!) – schools may enter two teams if they wish, assuming they can meet supervision ratios.

  • EVENT DATE: Thurs 28th June 2018, 10am – 2pm. Sprowston Cricket Club

There will be trophies, medals and certificates available on the day, but ultimately the competitions are about kids having fun in a safe event environment and wanting to take that experience in to more regular participation. The focus is very much on enjoyment! Note that these are separate from the County Kwik Cricket Competitions run locally by SSP’s and the subsequent finals run by NCB.

We hope that you will be able to book your school on to these competitions and we look forward to seeing you later this term.

If you have any questions please contact Kieron Tuck, NCB (Click HERE to email) or James Roberts (St Williams Primary), who is assisting (Click HERE to email).
