IOG (Groundsman) Level 1 A&B course dates released for 2010
The IOG run a two part foundation course in cricket groundsmanship. Part A deals with pre-season work and Part B covers end of season maintenance for cricket squares and outfields. This is an essential course for any groundsman, regardless of age and experience.
Evidence shows that clubs with qualified groundsmen consitently produce better quality pitches and outfields for their matches.
The course dates are:
PART A: Sunday 18th April 2010, at Hingham CC
PART B: Sunday 22nd August 2010, at Hingham CC
The cost of the course is £140 per part, but the members of NCB Affiliated clubs will receive a 50% discount on this cost as the NCB is an Affiliate member of the IOG. Ensure you specify this when booking, quoting the NCB Affiliate Membership number: XAF0370412. The NCB also has a small amount of bursaries of £60 for any groundsman seeking Level 1 training who is from a Focus Club. Other clubs may obtain funding via the Sport England Small Grants programme which is listed separately on this website.
