NCB & Breckland Council summer schools coaching underway
Breckland Council and the Norfolk Cricket Board, along with 4 School Sports Partnerships, have funded and organised a summer coaching programme in 8 primary schools in the Breckland area. The schools involved are: Watton Primary, Necton Primary, Old Buckenham Primary, St Mary's Primary (Beetley), Thomas Bullock Primary, Admirals Junior (Thetford), East Harling Primary and Mattishall Primary.
The programme got underway in early May at St Mary's Primary, Beetley, and pictures can be viewed below of the children enjoying the coaching lead by NCB coach Aaron Watson.
The programme will culminate in a festival for all 8 schools at Old Buckenham on July 20th. All schools are being encouraged to link to local cricket clubs to offer the opportunity for their pupils to continue playing cricket outside of the school environment.
This is one of 47 schools in total that the NCB are directly coaching in this summer, with the activity funded through a variety of sources, bringing cricket to around 1,100 pupils.
