O 50's Seconds v Two Counties

O 50's Seconds v Two CountiesTwo Counties Over 50 XI                181 for 9
Norfolk Over 50 2nd XI                    182 for 5

2 Counties batting first started decisively with Wiseman 15, Stuck 32 & Dunkley 31 adding 75 runs in the first 19 overs with the only Norfolk success being Wiseman bowled by Robin Yates. The first change brought on Mike Banham with immediate success as he forced Dunkley to hit his own wicket. Warden was caught by Adrian Bryan off Banham for 0, Marks was bowled for 3 and the prize wicket of Stuck, bowled leg stump, saw Banham take 4 for 5 in 32 balls. Mills 31 and the belligerent Bulger 36 repaired the damage with a stand of 55. When Banham left to make tea with 4 for 25 off 9 overs, his place was taken by Dave Bowker with equal success. Neil Bridgstock bowled Bulger before Bowker had Mills LBW, Patel caught & bowled & Cox bowled to finish with 3 for 12.

Adrian Bryan 21 & debutant Bob Eagleton opened the Norfolk reply. Eagleton was LBW to Tompkins and captain John Ruddick 26 took Norfolk to 73 for 4  with 20 overs remaining against tight 2 Counties bowling. The turning point was Robin Yates 33 partnering Neil Bridgstock (74 not out) with a stand of 93 in 12 overs although 2 counties had several chances to remove Bridgstock who probably won the lottery last night as well. Bridgstock reached his 2nd successive 50 for Norfolk and the quick singles with Yates maintained a great change of pace in the innings. With Yates stumped off Patel, Dave Bowker supported Bridgstock in the march to victory.

With Norfolk O50's 2nd XI's next 2 matches in June being away to 2 counties, they go forward after their first victory in 2010.
