O 50's v Hunts 16 June 10
O 50 ECB - Norfolk v Hunts
Wisbech – 16th June 2010
An unfortunate day for Norfolk as their chances of reaching the play-offs literally evaporated the minute Mark Lester pulled up lame at the end of his first over.
Opener Andrews, with less than a hundred runs combined against Norfolk in the last seven years, saw his chance, was dropped on 33 and 105 and ploughed his way to a top score of 150. Norfolk’s bowling was, Bix excepted, simply dreadful and Scotcher continued the carnage with 100 off 60 balls, the last 149 coming off 10 overs, to total 326-3.

It was without a doubt the worst ever bowling and fielding performance from a Norfolk 50 side in the ECB competition, but it wasn’t from lack of trying.

Needing to get a good start, the visitors lost Rice (12), Sayers (0) and Coote (5) in eight overs to hand the ascendancy to Hunts who only had ever won once in 15 years against Norfolk. When Pearse (28) ran himself out on 91 in the 18th over, virtually the same over rate as Hunts, but 4 wickets down compared to 0, the writing was on the wall. Norfolk ended up on 207-7, with Paul Dungar (40), Andy King (40) and John Lund 55 not out, contributing.
