This section will deal with all matters coming directly from the NCB, particularly around planning, strategy, newsworthy items, consultations and NCB operations. The NCB are seeking to become increasingly transparent and open about the way it operates and this section will go some way to ensuring that key information about what the Board does is available to those who want it.
The Norfolk Cricket Board exists to develop the game of cricket in Norfolk across all areas of the game, from supporting clubs development (especially at a network of Focus Clubs), to training coaches, running County Youth programmes, supporting Umpire development, women & girls cricket and bringing new funding in to Norfolk Cricket. This list is far from exhaustive! The Board are charged with delivering on their agreed ECB targets and maintain funding from the ECB. Essentially the Board are seeking to develop more opportunities to play and increase participation, whilst also enhancing the overall quality of the cricket experience on offer. The ways in which this happen are numerous, but the NCB are focused on several key areas.
* Club Development, especially Clubmark accreditations, participation, membership, volunteers and coaching
* Delivering a range of competitive opportunities for clubs and schools
* Supporting the various Associations (eg Youth, Umpires, Grounds, Coaches) to deliver improvements
* Engage a range of partners to enhance and develop cricket opportunities in schools
* Bring funding in to Norfolk Cricket to support facility and programme development
* Offer a broad programme of cricket opportunities to all, including women & girls and disabled participants
* Work with leagues and other competitions to enhance competitive opportunites
The NCB achieve this primarily through the Cricket Development Manager, although the Board does employ a small number of people in part time roles. The Board also has a range of plans and strategy documents which shape the delivery of these areas of cricket development. These plans are available to view in the NCB Strategy Documents section
