Schools

Cricket Activity in schools is of course a critical part of the work of the Norfolk Cricket Board. The aim is to encourage opportunity and participation for children at all schools through all year groups. Suitable competitions are provided to reinforce the game and these are not only available in the summer, as there are several indoor winter competitions available.

The Norfolk Cricket Board work closely with the eight School Sports Partnerships (SSP's) and their Partnership Development Managers (PDM's) as well as Active Norfolk and Local Authorities in order to deliver a range of schools activity and competitions. Activity may include coaching sessions, development days, Young Leaders courses, Cricket for Teachers courses, upskilling sessions and of course the critical area of linking schools to local clubs. The NCB also work with Chance to Shine to attract additional funded schools coaching programmes in to the county.

Key competitions are the Kwik Cricket competitions for Year 6 and under and the Lady Taverners U13 competition in the winter. These are run in conjunction with the Competition Management Team at Active Norfolk. The NCB also works with the Norfolk Schools Cricket Association, to deliver another dozen or so schools competitions throughout the year.

This section will provide updated reports, results, fixtures and photos from all the various competitions and school activity in Norfolk.
