Head Coach Emerging Players Programme

The Norfolk Cricket Board adopted the ECB's Emerging Players Programme in 2007-08. The programme aims to take on youth players (boys or girls) who have a realistic chance of playing first class cricket, giving them an intensive and managed schedule over one year (or more if required). The programme is run by Chris Brown (Level 3 Coach) and covers intensive technical coaching along with mental preparation, physical conditioning and lifestyle elements.

In 2008 Norfolk achieve considerable success through this programme with both of the two players on the course securing a place on a first class academy. Ryan Findlay has been selected for the Northants Academy, whilst Sam Arthurton has been taken on by Essex. This is a ringing endorsement of the way that the Norfolk Cricket Board have run the programme and the superb leadership of this initiative in Norfolk by Chris Brown. It is also a superb result for the two boys concerned who have put in the necessary hard work which has lead to the considerable improvements seen. We wish them well as they hopefully embark on a first class career.

In 2009, the two players selected were Tom Whitehouse (Horsford) and Olly Stone (Vauxhall Mallards). We hope that they enjoy similar success to their predecessors!
