8:56 Wear It Green Weekend 2026

Firstly, from all of us at the 8:56 Foundation – thank you, Norfolk cricket family.

To every club, player, umpire, scorer and supporter who joined us for Wear It Green Weekend 2025 — thank you. Your support, your photos, your green socks and laces, and your club socials turning green made a huge impact across the county and beyond. The socks ended up as far as Manchester and Devon that weekend and during the winter they were seen in Adelaide (thank you Charlie Hood) and Sydney!

We’re back for 2026 on the weekend of Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th June, and once again we’re asking the whole cricket community to #WearItGreen to raise awareness and support for mental health.

The reality hasn’t changed:

  • More than 4,500 men lost their lives to suicide in 2025.
  • That’s one man every two hours — the equivalent of 400 cricket teams.

This is why your support matters.

Across the weekend, wear something green — socks, laces, armbands, caps, anything. Every bit of green starts a conversation. (It doesn’t have to be the official green 856 merchandise although that is available for anyone interested)

To clubs: please turn your socials green again. It made a huge difference last year, and we’d love even more clubs involved in 2026.

The weekend finishes with our Wear It Green game against the Norfolk Cricket Foundation, at Horsford, for those not playing on the Sunday 7th June, we’d love to see you at Manor Park!
