Duncan Vaughan Appointed as Norfolk Cricket Foundation Chair

7th April 2026

Duncan Vaughan has been appointed as the new Chair of the Norfolk Cricket Foundation.

Duncan joins the Board of Trustees as Chair following a thorough recruitment process over the past few months. He succeeds Jane Hannah, who stepped down at the recent Board AGM held on Monday 16th March (read more here). At the AGM, Duncan was appointed as a trustee by the organisation’s members, with his appointment subsequently ratified by the existing trustees.

Duncan Vaughan said: “I’m excited to be joining the board as Chair at a pivotal time for the organisation. I am joining during a period of real hope for the game with participation numbers up across Norfolk. These increases have been in large part driven by the expansion and focus on the women and girls game. In the past year I have seen how much pleasure those taking up the game for the first time get from this amazing sport. Only last night I was helping out at the Sandringham and Dersingham ladies softball team’s first outdoor training session of the year. The excitement as this team prepared to take its first steps into league cricket was wonderful to see.

I look forward to working with the Foundation’s board and Lewis’s team. To be part of a larger organisation to try and help cricket become a sport for all and to improve access to coaching and improved facilities led me to apply for the Chair position. The sale of the Hundred and the potential for funding to make its way to Norfolk, as well as the Foundation’s recent charitable status, means increased opportunities to deliver on some of the hopes of cricketers across the county.

This wonderful sport of ours thrives on volunteers – from grounds keepers to officials, coaches, safeguarding officers, club committee member, parents, carers and supporters as well as long-suffering captains and vice captains spending crazy amounts of time chasing players for availability. Without this support, the game for all would be much poorer – thank you for all you do. I look forward to meeting and speaking to you – either in the middle or on the boundary – and to hear about your hopes for Norfolk cricket and how the Foundation can help you achieve them.”
