ECB Annual EDI Reports – December 2022

15th December 2022

Over the last 12 months, so many people across the game have doubled down on efforts to try and change our sport at a rapid pace. Whilst we recognise that there is still much work to do, today we are publishing three reports to demonstrate some of the progress made to date. I’m sure you will agree that they reflect a vast amount of work from so many people up and down the country. These reports will go out publicly at 12.30pm.

The first report focuses on the progress made against the Game-wide Action Plan and the 12 commitments the game made to promote equity, diversity and inclusion at all levels. We have delivered quarterly updates on progress and now this ‘one year on’ update provides a comprehensive summary of action taken so far and the ongoing work that will continue to drive the game forward.

The second report is on our ECB EDI Action Plan, a two-year plan, which focused on four key areas: empowering people, building diverse teams, developing inclusive environments and leading with accountability. Across those areas we committed to delivering 12 actions by the end of 2023. The report highlights the steps that we have taken so far and the areas that we will focus on over the coming year.

Finally, we will be communicating about our wider diversity work across the game to deliver change and the data that demonstrates progress. This work has been underway for several years through the Inspiring Generations strategy to attract more diverse participants and fans to our sport.
