ECB Tackling Climate Change fund open to all affiliated cricket club

This week, ECB have launched a new £1 million Tackling Climate Change fund open to all affiliated cricket club across England & Wales which includes all Norfolk Recreational Cricket Clubs.

The £1 million fund is being managed directly by ECB with all applications completed via the ECB Investment Management Site (IMS) https://ims.ecb.co.uk/.

Given the current drought conditions across the UK, I have no doubt that this fund will be extremely competitive so any club looking to take advantage of this fund is encouraged to do asap.

I’m happy to help chat through projects with any clubs that wish to do so but please note Norfolk Cricket Foundation will have no say in the final decision making process for this fund.

Purpose of the fund

• The Tackling Climate Change Fund aims to support ECB affiliated Cricket Clubs to mitigate the impact of Climate Change with a focus on flooding, drought, energy saving, and water management.

Who can apply?

• The scheme is open to all ECB affiliated cricket clubs in England and Wales.

What type of projects are eligible?

• Flood Resilience – building protection / targeted drainage / ditch or culvert clearance
• Drought Resilience – rainwater harvesting / bore holes / square irrigation
• Heat Resilience – awnings / ventilation / planting
• Energy Saving – Insulation / LED lighting / Solar PV / Solar Thermal / energy-efficient heating systems / double or triple glazing / EV Chargers / Energy efficient (kitchen) appliances
• Water Management – Water-saving sanitaryware / greywater recycling / SUDS & Stormwater attenuation
• Electric mower or roller (maximum grant of 25% of costs only) 

How much can be applied for?

• Clubs can typically apply for between £1,000 (minimum) and £15,000 (maximum) per application.

Important dates

• Fund opens on 27^th July 2026.
• Fund closes on 30^th November 2026 (or until the funding runs out, if sooner).
