Jane Hannah to stand down as Norfolk Cricket Foundation Chair

Having been at the helm of the Norfolk Cricket Foundation for the past 4 years, Jane Hannah will stand down as Chair of the charity at the next AGM in March 2026.

Jane’s role in recreational cricket has spanned 17 years where her impact in that time is clear. Having worked for ECB as National Volunteer & Participation Manager between 2008-2017, Jane joined the Norfolk Cricket Board as a Non-Executive Director in 2017 before becoming Chair in 2021 where she has held the post ever since.

As well as her professional career, Jane has held multiple voluntary roles covering sport development including being an Active Norfolk Board Member, Chairperson and Race Director of Tri Anglia, Non-Executive Director of the NCCA and a member of the Cricket Club Conference.

Whilst there is no doubt Jane has made a significant impact on recreational cricket over the last 17 years covering all her working and voluntary roles, arguably the biggest different she has had on the game has been within recreational cricket in Norfolk in her role as Chair covering the last 4 years.

In just four years, Jane has transformed the way in which the Norfolk Cricket Foundation (formally Norfolk Cricket Board) is governed and staffed by the development team. Jane has helped to oversee a complete Governance reform of the organisation where the Trustees are now skills focused and has 40% female representation.

In late 2024, the Norfolk Cricket Board took the decision to become a Charity Incorporated Company (CIC). Over the winter period, Jane helped to lead this process and in February 2025 the Norfolk Cricket Foundation was formed.

As well as becoming a charity, Jane has helped be involved and oversee the new Norfolk Cricket Foundation branding change as well as our new strategy covering the period 2025-2028 ‘A Game for Everyone’.

Jane commented “After almost five years as Chair of the Norfolk Cricket Board, it has been an incredible privilege to help guide cricket in Norfolk through a period of real growth and positive change.

With our recent transition to the Norfolk Cricket Foundation, this is an exciting moment for new leadership. I feel it is the right time to hand over the role and create space for someone new to lead the Foundation into its next chapter, bringing the game to more people, in more communities, across the county.”
