NEW Walking Cricket in Norwich – Starting in November 2022!
26th September 2022
In its’ aim to try and increase participation in cricket across the county, Norfolk Cricket Board (NCB) are to start delivering FREE walking cricket sessions in Norwich this winter.
For six weeks starting on Wednesday 2nd November, 1.00pm – 2.30pm, the NCB will deliver Walking Cricket Taster Sessions at the Bob Carter Leisure Centre in Drayton. The sessions have no upper or lower age limit although they are adult sessions. The sessions are fully inclusive to everyone of all abilities and are open to both male and females interested in having a go.
The first six weeks will be free taster sessions, for people to try the game. The NCB will provide all the kit required to play the game, a soft ball will be used with everybody having the chance to bat and bowl in a relaxed environment. The idea is to have 12-16 people attend each week and to play a game of pairs based cricket. Underarm bowling will be allowed. Sides will be picked from a hat on the day.
The aim of the sessions is to get people back into playing cricket, or for people who want to try it for the first time. They games will be fun, not too serious and an ideal opportunity for people to meet or make old or new friends. After, a coffee and a chat will be encouraged.
