Norfolk County Age Group (CAG) Open Trial Nominations 2026–27

The NCF is inviting open trial nominations for players wishing to be considered for the Norfolk County Age Group (CAG) cricket pathway for the 2026/27 summer season.
As in previous years, this is a fantastic opportunity for boys and girls to be part of a highly respected county youth system.
Parents/guardians are encouraged to complete the nomination form (coach nomination is no longer required), although discussing with your child’s coach beforehand is recommended.
Initial outdoor trials will take place at Horsford Cricket Club.
Outdoor Hardball Trials – 2026/27
- Two trial dates will be available per age group (July–August)
- Please select one suitable date when registering
- Sessions will be run by CAG coaches
- Full details will be shared with registered players once confirmed
Important:
Players already selected in a 2026 CAG squad do not need to attend Phase 1 trials. They will enter at Phase 2.
Age Groups for 2026/27 Nominations
Boys
- U13, U14, U15*, U16, U18
Girls
- U13, U14, U16, U18
*U15 boys will have a shorter summer programme but a full winter programme.
Minimum Age Eligibility
- U13 nominations must be genuine U12 players entering School Year 7 in 2025/26
- Players in Year 6 or below are not eligible for CAG trials but can join Early Engagement Programme (U10–U12)
Trial Process
Phase 1 – Outdoor Trials
- Open to all eligible players
- Held at Horsford Cricket Club
- County coaches assess and shortlist players
- Results communicated via email
Phase 2 – Indoor Trials
- Location: Langley Preparatory School (Taverham Hall)
- Dates: October–December
- Includes:
- Selected players from Phase 1
- Existing county players
Final squad selection is made by the County Age Group lead coach and performance team.
Feedback is provided to unsuccessful players at this stage.
Cost: Free to attend all trials
Registration Guidance
- Select the age group for the 2027 season
- Example:
- U13 eligibility = DOB between September 2013 – August 2014
Eligibility Criteria
Players must meet at least one of the following:
- Born in Norfolk
- Live in Norfolk
- Attend school in Norfolk
- Play club cricket in Norfolk
