Norfolk Cricket Board – SATURDAY LEAGUE 2020

22nd July 2020

Following the cancellation of the Norfolk Cricket Alliance (NCA) and the Norfolk Cricket League (NCL) due to COVID-19, the Norfolk Cricket Board (NCB) took the responsibility to organise a competitive cricket offer for the remainder of the 2020 season.

The NCB initially provided a survey to all Saturday Cricket Clubs to gauge the interest of returning to cricket in a COVID-19 Safe environment. Following this the NCB collated a total of 101 confirmed team entries into the League competition. These teams have been split into 16 groups of 6 and 1 group of 5, where all teams will play a round robin in their groups.

The arrangements have deliberately been kept simple to cater for all teams with 40 overs per side completing the format, and a relaxed player registration allowing teams to call on players to fulfil teams where required. We have worked closely with NACO to provide appointed Umpires in groups 1 – 5.

The competition will commence on Saturday 25th July with group fixtures concluding on Saturday 22nd August. The final week in August is available for teams to rearrange weather affected matches or for Groups 1 – 4 to complete an optional play-off match.

The competition has a brand new play cricket website, where clubs will be required to upload their results on the day of the fixture. This website will collate all the match day results and league tables. Fixtures can also be found on this website.

The competition rules and fixtures are available in the downloads sections below. If you require any further information on the competition or have any questions please contact Jason Reynolds or Kevin Denmark. (NCB Competition Organiser)

The Norfolk Cricket Board will be completing a weekly report on the NCB Saturday League, highlighting any notable team and personal performances. This report will also feature in the EDP Sport Section and will be sent directly to NCB Saturday League Club Contacts. Please see below for weekly reports.
