17th April 2025

Friday 4th April saw the official launch of the Norfolk Cricket Foundation as a charitable company at The Nest (Norwich City Community Sports Foundation). The morning bought together over 40 people comprising of sponsors, stakeholders, partners, trustees and staff as the Foundation unveiled the new brand and strategic 4-year countywide plan ‘A Game for Everyone 2025-2028’.
The event also welcomed 60 children from Drayton Infant School and 20 people from the Norwich Walking Cricket centre as the Foundation showcased two examples of the many community cricket programmes that take place on a weekly basis.
The new 4-year countywide plan has a clear focus to make cricket a game for me, you and everyone and builds upon the previous Inspiring Generations strategy which ran from 2020 through to 2024. The new ambitious plan aims to take cricket to new places, new people and create a lasting, positive impact on the lives of individuals and communities in Norfolk through the power of cricket.
The strategy has a clear focus to grow, retain and enhance the core of the game as well as using the charitable foundation status to make cricket accessible to new people & communities. It is underpinned by four core values; Run on Respect, Embrace Enjoyment, Build Belonging and Progress with Purpose which match the ECB core values.
Chair of the Norfolk Cricket Foundation, Jane Hannah is excited about the future of cricket in Norfolk over the next 4 years “Building on a solid foundation of club, league and schools cricket, now is the time to grow the Norfolk cricket community by demonstrating that cricket is a game for everyone. This will not happen overnight, and we are committed to a long-term strategy whereby we challenge perceptions of the game, build meaningful partnerships and relationships, find new places to play and expand our already striving cricket community to be more diverse and inclusive.
We will continue to support the core recreational cricket in Norfolk which remains in a healthy state and a big thanks must go out to the thousands of individuals who dedicate so many hours, so much passion and commitment to creating cricket environments and opportunities across the county for people to play.”
Lewis Denmark, Cricket Development Director is determined to ensure that the new strategy has a positive impact on people’s lives in Norfolk “We have a committed development team who are supported by a forward thinking, diverse group of Trustees who are all focused on helping us deliver this strategy over the next four years.
We want to give as many people as possible the chance to pick up a bat and ball over the next four years. This new strategy plan sets out a framework for how we are going to go about this but in order to achieve our aspirations we need the support of our amazing stakeholders who are already involved in cricket and those with whom we have not yet engaged. Cricket is a game that can impact communities, bring people together and change lives. We look forward to working with you to bring this plan to life.”
Norfolk Cricket Foundation would like to thank every individual, stakeholder, sponsor and partner who has contributed to this but would like to pay special thanks to Fosters Solicitors for their legal support and Naked Marketing for their support with the new branding.
