Norfolk Junior Hardball Competitions 2022

The Norfolk Cricket Alliance (NCA) and West Norfolk Junior Cricket League (WNJCL) have combined to become one countywide Junior Hardball Competition next summer and will provide hardball junior cricket at U9, U11, U13, U15 and U17 during the 2022 season.

Following the recent decision by the South Norfolk Community League (SNCL) to not run their competition in 2022, we would like to extend entry to all cricket clubs in the County.

Countywide Hardball Cricket Competitions 2022

Following the Hardball Junior Cricket survey undertaken by the Norfolk Cricket Board (NCB) in 2021, the overwhelming feedback suggested that clubs would prefer the following:

• A league format as opposed to league followed by knockout.
• Fixtures played longer into the season.
• A 2-Tiered structure at U11, U13 and U15. (Designed to provide the most appropriate cricket for players of all abilities and help reduce the number of one-sided fixtures)
• No fixture windows to complete matches. (One end of season deadline)

In conjunction with the NCB, this feedback has been incorporated into the competitions for 2022. The U9 and U17 competitions will continue to run as a single tier on a regionalised basis.

2022 Entries

The competition will be hosted via the existing NCA Play-Cricket website and full competition details and rules can be found in the attached document.

Entry is free and is open to all NCB affiliated clubs and not just those within the NCA. Deadline for entries is 31^st January 2022.

The entry forms can be found in the Admin Section of your club’s Play Cricket Website in the Action Centre. In here you should find a pending ‘Order’. Select this and then enter the number of teams per age group competition you wish to enter and then submit. (https://bit.ly/3FxyIsN)

Softball Cricket & Girls Cricket Competitions 2022

For those clubs interested in softball cricket, the U9 and U11 Competitions will once again be run by the Norfolk Cricket League. The NCB will be running Girls ONLY softball and hardball competitions.
