Appointment of Administrator
We are delighted to announce that Jane Morton has been appointed to the post of part-time Administrator to undertake essential work to ensure the smooth running of the NRCA. Jane has extensive administrative experience in her working life and, since settling in Norfolk, has been closely involved in the running of Hethersett & Tas Valley CC and Norwich Dragons Hockey Club.
Appointment of Chair
For the first two years of the new league, the Norfolk Cricket Board will appoint the Chair in order to ensure continuity with the work that has been already carried out. The Board has advertised for applicants and an appointment should follow in the next six weeks.
Appointment of Treasurer
We are also very pleased to confirm that a successful approach has been made to an individual with an experienced financial background to fulfil the role of NRCA treasurer; this appointment will be formally confirmed at the inaugural NRCA AGM in December.
Preparing a budget
The Interim Committee is currently considering a draft budget for presentation to the inaugural general meeting in December. Two key elements of the Year 1 budget will be:
- sponsorship – discussions are ongoing with potential sponsors
- club subscriptions – these will need to be agreed at the inaugural AGM and the Interim Committee will be making recommendations to ensure the financial viability of the Association in its formative years
The Interim Committee is close to finalising the roles that will need to be filled by the individual members of the Executive Committee. We anticipate that some will be filled by members of the Interim Committee but in other cases we will be looking for volunteers from within the club network. Full details will be available in the August bulletin.
Discussion is ongoing with the Norfolk Cricket Board on an appropriate structure for hardball and softball junior competitions from 2022 and subsequent years. The structure will be informed by a survey of clubs that will be completed on June 30th.
A Play-cricket website has been set up and it is hoped that the wide range of functions available on the site can be used to enhance the administration of the Association
A design for the Association’s logo has been confirmed.
Match balls and trophies
Preliminary discussions have taken place with potential suppliers for match balls and trophies.
All clubs are reminded that this event will be held at Wymondham Rugby Club on Monday 6th December. At about the same time the closing meetings of the NCA and NCL will also take place.
