NRCA – September Bulletin

22nd September 2021

This is to update clubs and players on the work of the Interim Committee following the overwhelming decision in March to create one Saturday cricket league from 2022.

Email to all clubs

All Club Secretaries should have received an email from the NRCA Administrator seeking any proposed rule changes, new team nominations or nominations for positions on the new Executive Committee by 30th September.   If your club has not received this email please contact Jane Morton via NRCA@norfolkcricket.co.uk

ECB Registered Play Cricket Accounts

The biggest job the NRCA will face is approving all players to the new league via Playcricket.   In order for a player to be approved to play in the NRCA they will need an ECB registered account (one WITHOUT an *) on Playcricket.

Please can all players start this process now.   If you receive weekly emails from the ECB entitled “how did your club do at the weekend?” then your account is already registered with the ECB.  However, if not, you may need to create a new account by following the link below.  Your club secretary will then be able to merge your two accounts so you retain all your past runs and wickets.

Adult Competitions 2022

Building on the success of the NCL’s T20 competition, the NRCA hopes to offer a set of competitions in this format in the summer of 2022.

Junior Competitions 2022

These competitions will be available to all clubs affiliated to the NCB and will take the place of those previously organised under the auspices of the NCB, NCA and NCL, these being:

  • the NCB/NCL softball competitions
  • the NCA hardball competitions
  • the West Norfolk Junior League

As requested by the majority of clubs in a recent NCB survey these competitions will be tiered.

Entries for these competitions will need to be made by January 31st 2022.

Play-cricket Website and Twitter

A Play-cricket website has been set up and content will be added gradually over the next few months. It can be found at https://nrca.play-cricket.com/home.  We also have a Twitter account – @NRCA_2021 – give us a follow!

Inaugural AGM

All clubs are reminded that this event will be held at Wymondham Rugby Club on Monday 6th December 7 for 7.30pm start.  At about the same time the closing meetings of the NCA and NCL will also take place.  Further details will be sent to Club Secretaries nearer the time.

Chair of the Interim Committee
