NCB Women & Girls Softball League 2021

13th January 2020

We are now welcoming formal sign-ups for 2021!

NEW Women & Girls Softball League 2021 (Ages 13+)
Women & Girls remains a key priority for Cricket in Norfolk in line with the new ECB Inspiring Generations Strategy. NCB are going to run a new women and girls softball cricket league in 2021 following on the from the successful ECB Softball Festivals during 2019. All clubs are invited, and entries are FREE. (ECB softball cricket festivals will continue to run and clubs are encouraged to run these as per previous years)

Following lots of interest from clubs in Norfolk and a successful first meeting, we are now looking for formal entries for the 2021 competition.

The cricket is aimed at those players who may be completely new to the game, players new back into the game and those players interested in having fun. Teams will be between 6 and 8 players per-side and will follow a kwik-cricket type format with fast paced matches that are very easy to run.

More Details

The Norfolk Cricket Board will group cricket clubs into groups of 4 or 5 based on geographical locations to minimse travel. Matches will be played with softball cricket equipment provided by each club and each match will last around 30-40 minutes. The plan is for each club to play 4/5 festivals over the summer with each club hosting 1 festival at their ground. Festivals can take place on evenings or weekends and will last between 2-3 hours with each team playing 2/3 matches per festival.

The focus is on Fun, Fast Matches which are inclusive to cricketers of all ages and abilities with simplified rules and minimal equipment required.

Please email Jo Ticehurst (NCB Women & Girls Development Officer) to sign-up today or if you have any questions about the competition.
