Rocklands Cricket Club reap rewards from FoNYC grant!
24th January 2023

The Committee and members of Rocklands Cricket Club are hugely grateful to the Friends of Norfolk Youth Cricket for their help in funding two coaching courses and the replacement of worn out bats in our youth kit bags over the last 12 months.
The newly qualified Core Coaches, Daisy Eke and Luke Paterson, were immediately involved in our junior hardball sessions helping at 12 weekly sessions attended by nearly 50 youngsters through the 2022 season. Both also regularly assisted at our incredibly popular All Stars and Dynamos sessions as well. Both coaches represent the Club at 1st team level providing a great link between senior and juniors sections of the Club. With long serving coaches retiring it was vital that we were able to train up new volunteers in order to maintain our current junior cricket offering.
The new bats have recently been acquired and will be put to good use in the 2023 season. They will replace worn out bats in our Under 9, 11 & 13 age group kitbags allowing all those who can’t afford their own equipment to use some of the best equipment available and to perform to the best of their ability.
With subscriptions, match fees, etc only just offsetting our expenditure on running costs such funding is vital to enable the club to improve equipment and facilities and train new volunteers appropriately.
